Operation: Moving Forward
We invite you to join us in Operation: Moving Forward!
Operation: Moving Forward was established in order to ensure that we all continue to make positive strides towards academic success. We have noticed that despite our effort to improve education for all children in the community six years ago, there is a significant indication of failure for students. We want to make sure that all students in our community are academically proficient. The Denver Plan 2020 Goal of Closing the Opportunity Gap will be difficult to achieve in our community unless we work together to make significant changes in our schools.
Operation: Moving Forward is an opportunity for you to celebrate in the successes and support the necessary improvements needed in schools across Far Northeast Denver. Throughout the months of October and November, stakeholders from across the Metro Denver area toured various traditional, innovate, pathways, and charter schools which serve students from ECE and beyond. These tours consisted of meeting with school leaders, staff, teachers, and students; observing the facilities and classrooms; and a stakeholder discussion which allows time to evaluate school’s progress. Additionally, we conducted individual interviews, youth and parent focus groups, and stakeholder meetings in order to share out trends found region-wide.
From this, the Operation: Moving Forward team was able to compile a list of recommendations that will help shape sustainable action steps to embrace, respect, and support School Leaders so that they are accomplished the metrics laid out in the Denver Plan 2020.
