Set in the Deep South during the Great Depression of the 1930s, the plot follows the lives of a brother and sister and their widowed father, Atticus Finch. The small family is thrown into chaos when Atticus, a lawyer, chooses to defend a black man accused of rape, a controversial move at that time and location. Despite the serious themes of the work, this production offers much charm and humor, with subtle performances complimenting Harper Lee's brilliantly crafted dialogue to perfection.
